2019 IS ALL ABOUT ISAIAH 43:19
Isaiah 43:19 declares God is doing a new thing. Something church vets have heard this more than once. 2019 will take this reality to a whole other level. Verse 18 of Isaiah 43 instructs us to not dwell on the past. Pastor reminds us repeatedly that you cannot enter a room without leaving the one you’re in. I’m sure the road behind you is paved with life’s greatest victories and its most punishing failures. It’s time to close the door on your past. Notice God declares He is doing a NEW thing, not making things better. You may not see anything in your life, background check, or even credit report to qualify you for God’s new thing. It’s God’s new thing. Not yours or mine.
UNSEEN, UNHEARD, AND UNIMAGINABLE
1 Corinthians 2:9 tells us that God is going to do things that no eyes have seen, no ears have heard, and not even Walt Disney could imagine. Yet, the verses before 9 reemphasizes to us that it is God’s doing, that no man can do what is about to get done because we haven’t even seen it yet. God already had these things on His timeline, with or without us. Paul writes that these are hidden things. Honestly, it’s not so much that there hidden but more so that we ain’t trying to see them.
GOD AIN’T HAVING IT
The operating phrase for me in Isaiah 43:19 is, “Do you not perceive it?” Many of us see but don’t perceive. Most of the problem is we keep trying to see what’s in it for us, rather than perceiving God. Therefore, our worship is starting to be more and more about how good God makes us feel rather than just worshiping Him. Glorifying God for being God, not just for being good. Which is also why we have a hard time believing that God would lay the smackdown on wrong doers, beginning with His own children. Which leads to going play-doh on God’s word and stretching it to fit our own pleasures. God ain’t having that. Over and over in God’s word He shows that He will rebuke and if He must, remove the rebellious to promote His remnant.
SEE TO PERCEIVE GOD THIS YEAR
The final words of Isaiah 43:19 declares that God will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. You will run into moments where you can’t see a way through. Again, see to perceive God. Don’t just look at the mountain in your way but see the nail scarred hand of Jesus moving things to fulfill His purpose. You will be reminded that He will make a way out of no way because Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. There’s no stopping His plans for 2019. Unfortunately, not everyone will perceive the majesty of Jesus, only those who are truly seeking Him with all their heart, soul, body, mind, and strength. We are going to see things that we have never seen before. Those things that God showed us, and we tried doing but didn’t work, just got its work permit this year. HALLELUJAH JESUS!!!!! Those areas that have “lost that loving feeling” and dried up? Time to dust off those swimming trunks. Again, not for everyone but those who love God with everything they are. I really pray you get to see in 2019. Not just all the incredible things God is doing in 2019 but to just see Him. If you are ready to perceive getting started is very simple. You start the same way that everything awesome begins in God. Knees first. It’s starts by prayer. Jeremiah 33:3 says it best, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
